In this symposium, lasting 90 minutes, each of the three speakers will make a presentation of about 20 minutes, followed by discussion, questions and comments made by the audience and moderated by Professor José Lagarto, who will also have the task of making a synthesis of the session.

The discussion topics are (presentation order can be changed):
a)    Margarida Nunes: To overcome distance and ensure learning: Effective training without time and space limitations, with two subtopics:
a.1. Learning environments in large organizations;
a.2. Factors to consider in the design of learning solutions
b)    Nuno Pena: “EPTEALAS” - Model of Instructional Design and Measurement of Effectiveness and Efficiency Management
c)    Rosário Cação: Indicators of maturity in e-Learning: How to assess the maturity of companies in terms of e-Learning.

José Reis Lagarto

Associate professor and member of the scientific council of the Faculty of Human Sciences of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).
Coordinator of the Master in Education, specialization in ICT and Education, carried out in e-Learning at UCP.
Professor responsible for the curricular units Multimedia Communications, Research Methodologies in Education and Distance Education and eLearning.
Author of books and articles related to the integration of ICT in School, professional distance training and eLearning systems.
Member of the team coordinating the degree and master degree in Portuguese Sign Language at UCP.

Margarida Nunes - Partner ISQE (Pedagogical Coordinator)

Team Leader of the Pedagogical and Content Development Team
Over 14 years of experience in e-Learning projects for large organizations.
Master degree in Education - Specialization in Educational Technologies (Faculty of Psychology and Education of the University of Lisbon), Postgraduate in Management of Distance Training (University Complutense de Madrid), Postgraduate degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technology (Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e Empresa).
Author of several articles and communications in the area of e-Learning.

Nuno Pena

Since 2011, Nuno Pena, performs duties of Director of UnYLeYa (e-Learning company belonging to the LeYa Group), being responsible for developing e-Learning and b-learning solutions for professional training, based on innovative approaches to instructional design for adult training, supported by advanced technological tools. From 2006 to 2011, he worked as Chief Learning Officer in the Portuguese Association of Insurers. He was also founder and responsible for the Portuguese Insurance Academy. Previously, from 2000 to 2006, he was Blended Learning Training Manager and Business Unit Manager of e-Learning in two consulting companies in Portugal (EMELES and Sinfic).

Nuno Pena is currently Postdoctoral researcher in ADVANCE - Centro de Investigação Avançada em Gestão of the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG) and Investigator and Collaborator of the Unidade de Investigação Educação e Desenvolvimento - UIED (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia – Universidade Nova de Lisboa). He holds a PhD in Management, specialization in Information Management (Universidade Aberta), a Master degree in Multimedia Educational Communication (Universidade Aberta), a Postgraduation  in Education (FCSH, UNL) and degree in Philosophy (FCSH, UNL),
Moreover, he works as a reviewer in academic journals and is part of the IADIS International e-Learning Conference and the International Institute for Applied Knowledge Management (IIAKM).

Rosário Cação

Has a PhD in Information and Technology Sciences from the University of Coimbra and has a degree in Management and Business Administration from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She also has an MBA from the Management School of Porto.
She is a founding member of EVOLUI.COM offering 200 fully online courses to more than 60,000 customers coming from 29 countries. She is a business consultant in the area of e-learning and researcher at the Centro de Informática e Sistemas of the University of Coimbra. She is the author of 5 books in the e-learning area and regularly publishes articles on the same theme. She integrates the Business Intelligence Board of the Chief Learning Officer magazine and the advisory bodies of various entities.
