Brief synopsis:

In this symposium we will debate the innovative approaches that combine technologies and pedagogies for online learning, welcoming formal and informal learning in organizations.

The “online education system” of an organization currently allows the record of the student’s learning results by accessing and measuring the quantity and quality of contributions by students on digital platforms (LMS, PLEs, Social Networks, Information and Knowledge Systems of companies/organizations).

The digital footprint left by the student/ trainee in the web reveals data that allow the “educational organization” and “Teacher”, or even the company, to assess in a flexible way the path and quality of student/employee/trainee learning, making it possible to develop processes of formalization and certification of learning.

This approach includes the possibility of monitoring the student’s digital footprint in formal and informal settings. The PLEs, OERs, the MOOC, the OOC or organizational learning mechanisms available within companies (including the Oc and the Spooc) represent forms of blended learning on a continuum between formal and informal learning contexts that generate knowledge in organizations, create value and generate innovation.

Thus, it is aimed to discuss the formal/informal learning and at the same time to understand how “organizational” technologies have (or have not) responded to this need for integration and innovation. We will present the perspective of those who use, those who investigate, but also those who develop.
